A special field for hard bearing balancing machines is the power generation industry where a variety of different types and sizes of rotors, especially in case of large turbines and generators, have to be repaired at the site, i.e. power station. This saves a lot of time as no rotor transportation is required and the associated risks and costs of to & fro transportation avoided. The last repair process prior to reinstallation of such a turbine or generator rotor is balancing, so that in power station a balancing machine is also required. In order to avoid that each power station has its own balancing machine which is used only once or twice a year, Jp pioneered design of Transportable Balancing Machine.

Shanghai Jianping Dynamic Balancing Machine Manufacturing Co., Ltd is building a model PHWQ10-T, Transportable Balancing Machine which will be stationed in Shanghai Works but can be pressed into service at sites whenever there is a demand. This can take all Steam Turbine, Generator and Gas/ Hydro Turbine rotors up to 50 tonnes weight, and will be the larger mobile balancing machine capable of balancing all rotors in China. The transportable machine can resolve rotor dynamic balancing problems of Industrial and Power Turbines (including large 660MW supercritical turbines LP rotors weighing up to 50 tonnes), Gas & Hydro turbines and Generators.

In addition to balancing, our transportable machines can also be used for light machining like turning and grinding, for which it can be combined with a light machining unit and set of adaptors/stub shafts. The other advantages are common to all hard bearing balancing machines viz. permanent calibration, low windage effect, no parasitic mass, extremely low balancing speed and a large permissible initial unbalance.

We have trained Senior Engineers with over 10 years experience as team leaders and other crew members adept to Steam & Gas Turbine inspection and TG rotor balancing. The other advantages include Jp’s fast service response, imported components like gearbox & cardan shaft and advanced Jp instrument. We will have on-board spares of critical spares, in-house servicing capability to ensure quality & reliability of results and optimum availability/uptime gives us a distinct edge over competitors.
